Herbal medicine consultations, it doesn’t matter where you are based as I see patients for online consultations every week.
People often ask me, what is a Medical Herbalist?
This is a question I’m asked a lot, especially at this time of the year – with people asking for herbal medicine support with coughs and colds.
Medical Herbalists have undertaken thorough training to degree level or above, in both plant medicine and orthodox medicine including anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, nutrition, as well as over 3000 hours of clinical training. Herbal medicine courses are often full time over four to five years.
Herbalists take a holistic approach to health, treating the root cause rather than the symptom. For me, emotional wellbeing is also an important part of a consultation as often imbalances in health can have a root cause of emotions such as stress or grief.
An online herbal medicine consultation with me is 90 minutes and I’m aiming to treat you holistically as a whole person, rather than one system of the body, so even if you’d like help with insomnia I’m still going to ask about your skin, your digestion and more – as everyone is a ‘whole’ person.
It’s always an honour to support someone with their health, whether emotional or physical – often the two are closely interlinked.
