Nervous system - Sleep - the elixir of regeneration workshop - Saturday 1st March

Sleep Workshop 10am-12.30pm
Location: Prestbury Village Hall
Tickets £46.50 per person

Sleep – the elixir of regeneration.

We spend almost one third of our lives asleep and for many of us at some point our sleep is disturbed, whether that’s due to stress, hormonal changes, being up with children, working shifts or even just too many cups of coffee!

Sleep is one of our greatest healers and it’s free. But when we don’t sleep long enough our physical and emotional well-being can become increasingly strained. Poor sleep impacts our nervous system, our immune system, our sex drive, the raised cortisol of sleeplessness makes us hold onto fat..the list goes on.

One of the most common presentations I see in my online clinic is patient’s with poor sleep, whether that’s struggling to get to sleep or waking up at random times in the middle of the night. As a medical herbalist I’m always aiming to treat the root cause and every patient has a herbal prescription bespoke to their unique needs. But there is so much we can do ourselves to support our own sleep.

Come and join me for a restful few hours and learn about the science of sleep and what we can do to promote a more restful snooze.

You’ll learn about:

– Sleep hygiene and why it’s important to love your bedroom

– Circadian rhythm – are you a night owl or a lark and what you can do in the morning to support your sleep

– Herbs and food to also help you rest and the effect of caffeine and alcohol on our sleep

A warm welcome awaits – we’ll meet at 10am and wrap up for 12.30pm when you’ll head home with a goody bag to support you moving forwards. Herbal teas will be provided during the workshop. Spaces are limited to encourage open discussion.

Prestbury Village Hall is a 12 minute walk from Prestbury train station and a short walk from the village centre. There is on street free parking and limited free spaces also behind the Hall.

Woodside Apothecary Herbal Events
“I first met Cath at a networking group and was fascinated by what she does. As someone who always prefers to take a more natural approach to healthcare, I was keen to learn more. After completing a very thorough form and consultation call, Cath was able to recommend supplements to help with erosive gastritis. I had been waiting 6 months for a follow up call from the consultant after my investigations so decided to take matters in to my own hands. I noticed a difference within a week of taking the supplements and soon after, all of the symptoms disappeared which felt amazing! I can’t tell you what a relief it is to not feel nauseous every day. If you’re struggling with a health issue and are wanting to look at a natural approach to support the symptoms, I highly recommend speaking to Cath”.
