Junior Herbalist Club Summer School Week Level One 11th-15th August - SOLD OUT

Junior Herbalist Club Summer School

Location: Prestbury Village Hall

Monday 11th – Friday 15th August 9.30am-12noon

After the sucess of the 10 month JHC course, I’ve created a Summer School week to cover all the lessons from Level One within five days.
We’ll have two classes each morning and then the children can ‘graduate’ at the end of the week and can move onto Level Two in the future if they’d like to!
JHC has been planned so that each class the children build on their knowledge and skills. We start off with Lavender, a well-known and easily identifiable plant, and progress on to making sun-teas, infused oils, poultices, cordials, bath-bombs, and lip balms – all to take home.
At the end of each session the children are given a worksheet to complete so they develop a portfolio of learning.

By the end of the week, we hope that the children will be able to:

– Correctly identify many of the common medicinal plants growing in their gardens, parks, hedgerows and streets and that they will be able to distinguish between poisonous and non-poisonous plants.
– Know the medicinal properties of many common plants.
– Understand how to use some of these plants in first aid and how to use some plants for making medicines.
– Enjoy listening to the stories and tales of folklore and history surrounding the plants and herbal medicine.
– Know how to cultivate and harvest plants whilst respecting their environment and all of nature.
JHC Level One is aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 13. However, younger and older children are also welcome. Please note that children aged under 8 will require a parent or guardian to stay with them during the class.
If you’d like further details, or to register your child/ren please contact me on the email below, providng your contact details and I’d be delighted to send you all of the information for Junior Herbalist Club Summer School.

Woodside Apothecary Herbal Events
“I first met Cath at a networking group and was fascinated by what she does. As someone who always prefers to take a more natural approach to healthcare, I was keen to learn more. After completing a very thorough form and consultation call, Cath was able to recommend supplements to help with erosive gastritis. I had been waiting 6 months for a follow up call from the consultant after my investigations so decided to take matters in to my own hands. I noticed a difference within a week of taking the supplements and soon after, all of the symptoms disappeared which felt amazing! I can’t tell you what a relief it is to not feel nauseous every day. If you’re struggling with a health issue and are wanting to look at a natural approach to support the symptoms, I highly recommend speaking to Cath”.
